Running Playlist – March

The theme for March’s running playlist is inspired by Lent. This year, I chose to give up monetary wastefulness: instead of buying a grande at Starbucks, I bring a cup of coffee to work. Instead of buying that cute new dress, I’ll refresh something already in my closet. No going out to eat unless I really don’t have time to cook. Etc. Etc.

It’s my way of acknowledging that, while I feel poor a lot of the time thanks to how expensive San Francisco is, I do have much more than other people. I need recognize that and stop taking it for granted.

So the theme for March is Making Old New. Every song on this playlist is a cover, and I love them.

Running Playlist – February

When no one else is in the office at work, I turn straight to Hair Nation. Nothing pumps me up quite like glam metal/rock. It’s almost as good as coffee.

February has never been my favorite month. By February, I’m always cranky with the cold weather and tired of the Valentine’s Day decorations that have been up since January 1st. Let’s just say I always need to get pumped up in February.

So the theme for this month’s playlist is Love Goes Glam. Because nothing and no one can express the peaks and valleys of love in the overblown way an 80s hair band can.

Running Playlist – January

Running Shoes

Every January I find myself battling the dreaded Holiday Weight. You might think I would have changed my habits by now being nearly 30 years old, but you haven’t met my family. We know how to eat. Well, you might have guessed that since I write a blog about food.

I like to think of January as Boot Camp for the rest of the year. And the only way to get through Boot Camp January is with a good running playlist.
